A do-gooder Canadian cat in India.
Stray dogs and cats are treated quite well on the whole, thank you very much.
Nick feels we are becoming jaded and bitter from consuming and writing about politics.
Even if it is supposed to be satire.
He noted that my last few columns were nothing but written bitch sessions and ordered me to take a break and write about something a little more cheery.
“There’s enough shit in the news, people don’t need nor appreciate you regurgitating it all over their timelines.”
I am constantly receiving queries as to what it’s like to live in India. So here goes - complete with audio visual aids. I’ll probably do another later.

You have to thank Bastet for the goodness of the people of Bangalore.
I have been gutted by the number of homeless dogs and cats on the streets of Bangalore since returning to one of my favourite cities after being locked down in Canada during COVID.
I’ve always worried about the strays and have bought food for them and even started a fund for their feeding and care.
I am slowly finding out that the good citizens of the city are feeding them. The only thing they need is health care and a number of organisations here are collecting funds for vet care and sheltering.
I encourage you to find a shelter near to where you live and, instead of signing up for a paid version of this column - donate to a shelter near you. Sign up for the free version of my column. Thanks.
When I was first introduced to Bangalore the population was 6 million people and 3 million stay dogs. In just a short time the population has doubled - people that is. I haven’t heard a number for the population of stray dogs.
As for stray cats - that’s anyone’s guess. You don’t see many during the day, but come nighttime you can hear them. You seldom see any.
Unless you’re a cat - in which case you are welcome to join them for a late night-early morning singalong. I’m a cat and I am more than welcome.
The two legged neighbours show their appreciation for these impromptu concerts by yelling cheers of encouragement and even throw things at us. We consider them gifts of appreciation.
Here’s a clip on Bangalore (Bengaluru).
More at a later date. Enjoy…
