Canadian Conservative 'leader' Poilievre - one MAGAT f**k-up after another
Terrorists on the Rainbow Bridge, disavowing allegiance to Ukraine, misinformation on carbon tax - he's a Trump clone
“If it worked for Trump in ‘16 why won’t it work for me?”
I happened to run into Pierre Poilievre panhandling for donations outside the Eaton Centre on Yonge St. in Toronto the other day and took the opportunity to ask him about his uncanny Trump style campaigning for an election that has yet to be called.
“Truthfully cat, I really don’t give a damn about the country, but I’m having a hard time keeping my positions consistent.
“Following the Trump method of campaigning, I tend to make outrageous, unverified statements based on hearsay, speculation and out and out invented news. None of it fact checked. This often forces me to quietly back-track or just ignore my own BS. Once I’ve said it my supporters take it as gospel and don’t bother to fact check.
“That may cause a few problems later. My base is predominately in the west, and come election time the educated, thinking population in eastern Canada will see it for what it is. Bullshit, lies, and rumors designed to get me elected.
“Western Canadians just swallow it up and spread it thru taverns, truck stops and MAGAT (Canada Division). Seems to work well - but let’s face it - western provinces only comprise about 4 percent of the Canadian population. Their only news comes from right-wing radio talk shows and the Post dominated print media.
“Post owns almost 100% of Canada’s print media.”
I replied that Post’s domination of Canadian news destroyed any semblance of balanced journalism in Canada, and find it hard to believe that intelligent Canadians bother to read their fact-devoid, unverified ‘news’.
I can’t help but wonder if the Murdochs are involved.
