Correct me if I misunderstood - Kash Patel is not eligible to be elected according to Trump's new law

Now I may have misunderstood, but isn’t Trump pushing to restrict the children of Americans whose parent were born in other countries from running for office.

Wouldn’t that make Kash Patel ineligible?

Where are Kash Patel's parents from?

His parents first moved to Canada in the early 1970s from Uganda in East Africa, where they were facing ethnic repression. Subsequently, they moved to the United States and his father started working as a financial officer at an aviation firm.
