DeSantis takes credit for moving migrants out of Hurricane Ian's path
"They would've been in danger had they stayed in Florida. Martha's Vineyard was a safe haven. Very few hurricanes there."
DeSantis claims that his decision to treat migrants as lost luggage on a Southwest Airlines flight was a “humanitarian act”.
He explained, “Trump warned me of a thought he had of Hurricane Ian hitting hard in Florida. It was prescient. He warned me to make sure the migrants were safe. Trump is known for his love of all humanity, his all-powerful brain and his love of people of color.”
“As I knew there were migrants in Florida and Texas, I thought I would send them out of harm’s way. I intended it as an act of love.”
“My great-great-grandparents were immigrants and I wondered how they would have felt if their life’s were endangered upon arrival in a strange land. I’m sure they would have appreciated a charter flight to somewhere nice.”
“By the way - this did not cost these poor migrants who had fled certain death in their home country a single peso. The good people of Florida paid for this trip thru the generosity of their hard-earned tax dollars.”
“I hope this explanation will stop all the hate mail and the woke media’s persecution of me and my kind act of Christian love.”
