Well Nick had to go to Cambodia again and I had the place to myself for a couple of days!
He arranged for the neighbor’s cat - Fluffy - a beautiful white Persian she-cat from next door - to come over and keep me company.
I also invited a few of the neighborhood feral cat gang over.
It made for an interesting day.
They devoured three days worth of cat food immediately. To be fair, they did bring over an assortment of previously living rodents, birds, reptiles as well as an assortment of insects.
Most of them had never been in a house before. Or seen a TV. Or a toilet. Or glass. Many received concussions as they tried to dash out the window when I turned on the TV.
These vagabonds had also never seen a litter box and spent a good hour flinging litter and feces at each other, and all over the house. ‘Such fun’, they would shout as they climbed the drapes and dove in into the litter.
It wasn’t long before they accidentally figured out how to flush. They spent hours flushing. Before long they discovered that if you threw something into the toilet and flushed, it disappeared. First to go was Nick’s Rolex. Maybe he won’t notice.
Yup, it was all fun and games until they started to unravel the toilet paper into the bowl and flush. Much to their delight and amusement, the roll emptied. But not before the plugged toilet flooded the washroom. And the kitchen.
They didn’t seem to mind the water though, they treated it as a big water dish from which to quench their thirst.
After the fun and games ended all fifteen of them had a nice long nap on Nick’s clothes and bed.
Which is where they were when Nick returned. They were awakened by Nick’s screaming.
I’m not allowed to stay home alone anymore.
"Or glass." (Cackles)
