Marsha Blackburn declared "Extreme Fire Hazard"
No open flames allowed within 50 feet of Senator Blackburn. Press not allowed within 10 foot radius.
Senator Marsha Blackburn has been declared a fire hazard by the District of Columbia.
District of Columbia Fire and Emergency Medical Services Department (DCFEMS) deputy chief, Mike Reid came to the decision and made the announcement after watching television coverage of a press scrum where Blackburn was being questioned on her performance on her questioning of SCOTUS nominee Ketanji Brown Jackson.
“I noticed a few of the press were smoking, and it occurred to me that should they get too close to the senator and her hair, a serious fire was a distinct possibility. So, I acted. From today, no smoking or open flames are allowed near the GOP senator.”
We contacted fire authorities in the senator’s state of Tennessee to see how they handle this issue and were told, “Well that isn’t really a problem down here. You see - when someone is elected to a position in Washington, we find that they never come back, unless it’s an election year.”
