Maybe BoJo wasn't that bad after all
Comedy relief in troubled times is always welcome. Contrast him with the current two contenders for the Tory top spot. In North America we would call the leadership race a 'clusterfuck'.
Larry the cat may be the solution to the Tory leadership clusterfuck.
The rightful owner of No. 10 Downing Street seems to have the common sense necessary to rule over the old boy network currently sitting in the House. And yes, the old boy network is alive and well. Just ask the men and women of America. In particular POC. The Republicans are doing their damnedest to strip the right to vote from the majority of citizens in the land of the free. Also at stake - women’s rights over their own bodies. To my mind, a return to slavery.
But alas, felines are not allowed to officially rule a whole country.
Yet.
But we’re patient, and at present quite content to own and rule individual households. Call it a stepping stone.
But back to the circus that is the UK Tory leadership battle. I’m no political strategist but it seems to me that Tory policy is being determined by focus groups and makeshift polling. Extremely flexible. Very ad hoc.
To my cat mind, it seems to get more and more fucked up every day.
Perhaps BoJo wasn’t so bad. Sure, he ignored the rules, as any old boy would, but he loved a good time. And it was certainly interesting - Nick could hardly wait for the morning papers from the UK every day.
He’d read the news out loud and the two of us would laugh hysterically.
Yes, BoJo did some bad things, but who did he hurt besides himself?
Now about Liz Truss and Rishi Sunak? Unknown quantities but I fear they are capable of doing far more lasting damage to the UK than BoJo’s partying and tomfoolery.
But I’m just a cat - what do I know?
I think Larry would make a damn fine PM - wouldn’t see him on a zip line.
