Merrick Garland goes part-time
According to Garland it would be too political to issue indictments in even numbered years
I’m just a cat, and correct me if I’m wrong, but it seems that Merrick Garland has adjusted DOJ policy to only work in non-election years for fear of offending would-be political candidates - essentially turning his job as the 86th United States Attorney General into a part-time job. This action would open the door for a flood of potential GOP candidates who were fearful that the criminal charges they were facing would affect their chances of election.
Asked what he would be doing during his down time Garland said, “Well, Ted Cruz has offered me the use of his Cancun time-share. So that will be nice.
“As well, Joe Manchin has invited me to spend some of my downtime on his coal-fueled yacht. It’ll be a bit of a working holiday as I will be required to spend time in the engine room shoveling coal.”
