Millions of dollars worth of RVs abandoned in Nevada desert
Burning Man organizers will auction off abandoned vehicles and RVs
“It’s a cash windfall,” one Burning Man organizer told me as I cat-paddled thru the copious amounts of water that had stranded thousands of the three-percenters in the Nevada desert.
The organizer was speaking not of the gate receipts from the Burning Man festival, but the torrent of cash that would be realized from the sale of the top-of-the-line motorhomes and other ultra-expensive recreational vehicles that the ultra-rich concert-goers have decided to abandon.
Most were in a rush to get to Ibiza where they could relax on their yachts after a week of partying in Nevada.
I spoke with one of the stranded.
“I really need a transfusion - a full transfusion - after consuming many fine drugs and gallons of expensive liquor. I have to get out of here post-haste before I go into withdrawal.
“Billy McFarland must be chewing his arm off when he realizes how much he missed the mark with his Fyre Island fiasco.”
