Terror in Bangor - chalk sidewalk messages terrify Sen. Susan Collins
"My blood ran cold when I saw the messages. We may have to move."
From Bangor Daily News
Collins voted against advancing the bill to the U.S. Senate floor in February. She has been criticized for voting to confirm justices Brett Kavanaugh and Neil Gorsuch to the Supreme Court after POLITICO reported last week that they had signed onto an opinion draft that would overturn a previous decision guaranteeing the constitutional right to abortion.

Sen. Susan Collins is confused, bewildered, and terrified. Much the same way she is when the sun rises. Startled beyond words. Her refusal to stand for women’s rights has the state of Maine shocked and upset.
Repeated abortion rights messages appearing on the sidewalk in front of her Bangor home have the Senator calling for police to investigate.
“Susie, please, Mainers want WHPA —–> vote yes, clean up your mess,” the first message read, according to a Bangor police report.
Upon seeing the message Susie immediately called the police.
Subsequent messages read, “If I don’t own my body…what do I own?”, “You work for us!,” “There are more variables than just birth,” “You might not recognize our right to free speech, but I hope you recognize my right to an abortion,” “FOR WOMAN,” “S.O.S. – Save Us Susie,” “Blessed be the First Amendment,” “Vote for WHPA,” “Education is pivotal” and “Mainers for abortion rights.”
Scary stuff indeed. My fur stood on end as I read the report. (sarcasm)
Collins refused to talk to me saying, “Cats make me nervous, confused, and terrified. Cats can steal the breath from a baby. Chuck Grassley told me that. And he’s old and wise.”
So being the intrepid feline I am, I tracked down the people responsible for the messages and spoke with Nancy Beckett of Bangor about the motive for the erasable vandalism.
“We have no way to reach her. She doesn’t return our calls. We call her and call her. Emails, texts - nothing. We go to her office and she’s not in. Or so they say. If we hang around, they call the police and have us arrested. We think she sneaks out of her house in the dead of the night. We tried round the clock surveillance to catch her coming or going. Nothing. We think she may have a tunnel in the house leading to a waiting car a block or so away. She’s a freaking shapeshifter is what I think.”
A police officer told us, “We don’t really pay attention to her anymore.”
