Distracted by World Cup and Christmas partying, Tories forgot that winter was freezing cold
Winter seemed to startle Tory MPs - yet again. Cats know enough to prepare for winter even if Tories don't. As for Christmas - not much to celebrate for most of the country.
Winter is brutal in much of the northern hemisphere - especially if you aren’t rich enough to afford heat and electricity. Not to mention food.
Doubly so if you have no money at all.
The Tories don’t care.
My cat friends are complaining that they are having to fight starving Brits over rodents which will be used to feed their families I’ve been told.
Cats and all animals know when winter is coming and what it means.
Tories apparently don’t - especially when they been distracted over spent the past month or so engrossed in and watching the World Cup.
That’s a priority.
I checked in with my good friend Larry the No 10 cat to see on how things were at No 10, and to see how his campaign for PM was going.
As Brits are aware, unless the expense and the weather has caused a lack of power to their homes to provide a source of news, Larry is running for PM in the next general election.
Larry told me, “Things are normal here at No 10 - lots of World Cup viewing parties and a month of discussion and second guessing English team’s coaching.
“And this week the Christmas parties have gotten underway. The house is inundated with inebriated and coked up Tory MPs, supporters, and most importantly - Tory donors. The donors brought the bulk of the cocaine and made it available at ‘discounted’ Christmas sale prices.
“I’ve been spending as much time as possible out of the house and on the campaign trail. I was reluctant to bother voters during the festive season but I did not find many people preparing for Christmas.
“This year there is no Christmas in the majority of British families or homes, I’m told that Christmas dinner will be dried ramen noodles washed down with water - if the water supply isn’t frozen or cut off. ‘Do-nothing’ Sunak doesn’t seem to give a damn. He’s certainly not losing any sleep over it.
“The country is on strike.”

I’ll probably take a few days off during this season and won’t be doing a column, unless something really sets me off.
Animal lovers…
If you are able, can I trouble you to make a donation of money or pet food, litter etc. to your local animal shelter, Humane Society, RSPCA, ASPCA or SPCA.
They need help, especially this winter.
And while we’re at it a donation to a local charity for UK citizens would be greatly appreciated.

I really don’t want you to pay for a subscription to my column - but do sign up for a free subscription and maybe donate $3 occasionally for our kitty snack fund when and if you can.
I realize that this winter is and is going to be brutal and leave a lot of people in dire straits - so don’t worry about it if you can’t.
Staying fed, warm and looking after your family and pets is far more important.
