Trump-inspired insurrection taxes America's penal system
Prisons full of insurrectionists raises concern that there will not be room for TFG and his mob
An AP article today got me to thinking.
Massive numbers of convicted insurrectionists are being incarcerated. A prison overcrowding situation is on the horizon.
From the Associated Press article - current insurrection prison situation by the numbers:
After reading the piece my little cat mind was whirling.
What will the situation be once Trump, family members and his dozens of co-defendants enter into the prison system?
I’m fairly certain Trump is envisioning a ‘Goodfellas’ type prison experience.
Those guys had food and wine brought in for them to enjoy during their stay. They had a makeshift kitchen. And a steady flow of female companions.
I asked him about it.
“You know cat, I’m marginally smarter than most Americans gives me credit for. I know Goodfellas was a movie. But it was based on reality. And I can’t say for sure, but I’m fairly certain I’ll be in one of the nicer prisons.
“And there’s a good chance they won’t have enough room. Especially considering how fast these jails are filling up with my followers.
“Maybe I’ll just get house arrest. But I’m getting the feeling I just may have to sell off a few of my homes to pay a few fines. I just have to be re-elected. I’m going to need a place to live. Although that housing problem will go away when I’m re-elected.”
I pointed out that should he win, he’d only be guaranteed housing for four years.
“Oh I fully intend to see that 2024 is the last election this country will ever have. When I return to my God-given right to rule this country I’m going to make sure that this president thing is a job for life.”
