US not bothering to congratulate new Brit PM
"Seems we're doing this far too often. Kind of a waste of time."
Calling it a total waste of time and stationery, US foreign protocol officer Janet Mundane has declared that going forward there will be no more formal letters of ‘congratulations and best wishes’ sent to new Prime Ministers in Britain.
“I had just gotten around to composing and engraving the official USA congratulatory greeting to Liz Truss and what happens? They’ve given her the boot and picked some rich foreign looking guy for the position.”
“Not something you usually see in British high society. Similar to America, but far worse, there is a degree of racial hatred in Britain. Especially among the Tories I’ve been told.”
“Anyway, we’ve decided that in the future we will simply email a congratulatory letter to whom it may concern.”
