Vietnam war on 5 part TV series - erased what I have thought about it
Could not watch it all at once - erased everything I thought about the war
I was bored the other day - sick of news and many of the TV shows that Nick uses to amuse his little mind.
I discovered a five part series on the war in Vietnam that ended fifty years ago.
Turns out that Nick’s thoughts on the conflict were kind of fucked up.
We could only watch 10 - 15 minutes of each viewing - it made Nick want to start drugging and drinking again - just as he had all those years before.
Nick grew up with that war - which was televised every night. Back in those days journalists were allowed to wander freely.
Nick is still terrified of north Vietnam and refuses to visit. The people from the north seem to hate foreigners and are extremely rude to English speakers. Nick refuses to visit the north - he’s quite content with Saigon.
But we will be heading back to Canada in about a month - he’s been checking rent prices and it terrifies him. And I don’t think food prices are any better.
I may have to go back to regular cat food - I will miss my fresh meat diet.
We’ve been checking rents - even the small towns have rental places that we can’t afford. Especially if we want to eat.
Me - I can catch my own food but I really don’t think Nick would be much of a hunter. He hates guns, refuses to use one - so it may be an insect diet for Nick. Of course, I’ll have to teach him how to hunt.
Now this is a guy who refuses to kill insects - especially ants.
Well for a guy who grew up with death during the Vietnamese war and refuses to kill he will be starving to death - unless a friendly squirrel teaches him to eat plants.
I wonder how long he’ll last as a vegetarian or insect hunter.

Spring is upon us but we still need homes for these pets.
