Will Madison Cawthorn's defeat discourage other teens from running for office?
"In spite of my bad experience, I would still recommend that immature 20-somethings pursue a career in politics. It's a real dope job."
Rep. Madison Cawthorn talks with reporters at his campaign headquarters on May 17, 2022 in Hendersonville, North Carolina
“In spite of my bad experience, I would still recommend that 20-somethings pursue a career in politics. It beats living in your parent’s basement, which is where I’ll be heading after November. It’s so easy - just listen to what your adult kin are bitching about and just repeat it - repeat it often and be loud. The GOP supporters like people who yell. Guaranteed to get you elected. That’s how I did it.”
That was how failed House Rep Madison Cawthorn addressed the graduates of the class of ‘22 at his alma matter, Billy-Bob’s Book Learning High School in Hendersonville, North Carolina, We asked Cawthorn to elaborate on his plans now that he is soon to be unemployed.
“Seriously, I need a break. I figure I’ve got a couple of months before the finance company repossesses my car and I plan to take a trip across the country with my girlfriend. Well - not actually my girlfriend - she’s a lease to own - Mr. Trump arranged it for me. Same agency where Melania used to work.”
