With Trump evaporating, our house is so much happier and quiet
I can actually get my eighteen hours of sleep - now only if WaPo would just shut TF up
“Serenity now!” - Frank Constanza - the man Nick has been quoting over the Trump years.
Nick was on the verge of a nervous break down listening and reading about TFG over the past few years.
The advent of Kamala and Tim has brought a veil of serenity to our house.
Trump has no idea how to deal with it, he is addicted to chaos, resulting in his spewing pure nonsense. His thoughts are not connected and make no sense. Any other senior citizen would be in a nursing home - heavily sedated and perhaps in a straitjacket.
Nick is actually sleeping thru the night listening to Kamala’s speeches. You can feel the release of the tension that built up in our house through the Trump years.
He’s stopped yelling at the TV and just skips the multitude of Trump articles in the WaPo.
It’s changed my life too.
I’m now free to do cat things during the four to six hours I am actually awake.
Once Nick is deep in sleep, I slip outside to frolic with the neighborhood felines.
Most of us are nocturnal, as a result the only time I can hang out with my friends is after the bewitching hour while Nick is slumbering peacefully dreaming of a Harris- Walz admin.
I can’t believe what I’ve been missing as I babysit Nick.
These guys are fun.
Although I must mention there is a lot destruction, but we’re smart enough to change neighborhoods frequently.
We love our cat fights but they can tend to be noisy, pissing off the humans - often resulting in a lot of human yelling and the throwing of objects in our direction. But we are quick to move to another neighborhood when sharp objects, bottles and shoes are being tossed at us.
And after fun is over - usually very quickly - as we felines have short attention spans - we return to our homes to grab a quick eighteen hour catnap as we look forward to nighttime.

Great article Tom! Im glad your home life has improved. I've lost so much sleep over the election (and Congress in general)......I too am feeling more confident and sleeping better. My dogs are happier too, they sense a shift in the universe.
