As you may or not know, felines are basically lazy unless there is a benefit to us. Usually involves food.
As mentioned previously, the rodent droppings on our balcony were giving Nick conniptions and his wrath was dumped on me.
Now I really did not feel much like playing janitor and chasing defecating and urinating rodents from our balcony - Nick told me in no uncertain terms that I was not to kill them.
Now this would require me to spend nights on the balcony, a time I reserve for prowling the neighborhood.
So I explained the issue to the group of feral cats I hang with on a lot of nights.
Boss Feral told me, “Fuggetaboutit Tom. We got this. But there will be bloodshed and we can really use the food. Nothing edible comes around us anymore.
“By the way, you don’t happen to have a bird problem, do you? Or do you know of anyone who is tired of cleaning up bird droppings. My gang and me would be happy to help with that too.”
It’s good to have friends. Try making a friend with a feral cat. BTW - they like liver.

Is Turtle looking for a a little attention perhaps?
Long story short they have decided inside the house is even better, especially when it’s below freezing and several feet of snow on the ground. I have to say though they do a great job of keeping the rodents away. But I did have to take down the bird feeders though. It just wasn’t fair to the birds
